FIRST AID TRAINING
FIRST AID TRAINING PROGRAMME
On 5th January,2023,In our college we have engaged ourselves in training how to first aid a emergency patients. For that wonderful awareness programme Dr. T. Pon Ravi, chief medical officer, Government hospital Tiruchendur welcomed and gave a great speech on first aid treatment and make us aware of first aid training through first aid kit set.
First aid refers to medical attention that is usually administered immediately after the injury occurs and at the location where it occurred. It often consists of a one-time, short-term treatment and requires little technology or training to administer.
The aims of First Aid can be remembered by thinking of the three Ps:
: Preserve Life
: Prevent The Situation Worsening
: Promote Recovery.
The definition of First Aid is ‘the help given to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available.’ So, First Aid is provided by the FIRST person who is able to help, and BEFORE professional medical help arrives. Effective emergency treatment before professional help arrives can go a long way to reducing the effects of illness and injury and can indeed save someone’s life.
